Colleen is an artist and TED Senior Fellow focusing on socio-ecological projects. Currently working to create artistic coral reefs and revive marine habitat with the Biorock® mineral accretion process, Colleen (with a team) recently created Living Sea Sculpture: Contemporary Art as Coral Refuge for the underwater museum, MUSA, in the National Marine Park of Cancun.
Eva Gudbergsdottir Eva Gudbergsdottir, Co-Organizer and Lead Curator
Eva is the token Icelander in the group, drawing on her deep North Atlantic roots and journalistic experience to curate TEDxMonterey “Sea Change.” Her day job is working as the manager of public and community relations for the Monterey Institute of International Studies where she earned her master’s degree in public administration.
Bob Cole Bob Cole, Technical Advisor, Co-Organizer
Bob is an accidental-turned-intentional technologist, tinkerer, and community-minded family guy interested in emergence, social and eco-friendly entrepreneurship, and organizational learning. He’s been a member of the TEDxMonterey organizing team since 2010 and jumped into the organizer’s seat for the inaugural TEDxYouth@Monterey which took place on November 19, 2011.

Colleen whale watches, SCUBA dives, snorkels, swims, plays in tide pools, and paddles kayaks–but her favorite thing in the world is staring at the ocean. She will graduate with a Master’s in Public Administration from the Monterey Institute in May 2012 and hopes to work in ocean conservation project management.

Max is passionate about the environment, travel, the arts and two wheels. He runs a one man design firm, Max Davis Company, in Santa Cruz CA. Solving design and marketing challenges with creative and effective solutions. A member of 1% for the Planet, donating 1% of sales to nonprofits, his commitment to creating a healthy planet.
Kim Hewett Kimberly Hewitt, Visual Designer
Kimberly is a native Californian and is inspired by the natural environment around her. She brings her lifelong love and dedication to exploring nature to this project. Her day job is as a Retail Store Designer where she has found a way to combine her creative mind and love of this beautiful environment as a career.
Charmy & Yuka Charmy Park & Yukako Tsuzaki, Chief Interpreters
Second Year Graduate Students Charmy Park and Yukako Tsuzaki, Chief Interpreters of TEDxMonterey, are responsible for organizing the team of 27 interpreters, all about to graduate with a MA degree in translation/interpretation from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. This year’s TEDxMonterey talks will be interpreted into Chinese, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish.
Max Troyer Max Troyer, Interpretation and Streaming Coordinator
Max is a Translation Consultant and Adjunct Professor in the Translation and Localization Management department at the Monterey Institute. Besides language, he has a passion for roller skating and enjoys visiting new rinks when traveling. For TEDxMonterey, Max is responsible for maintaining the foreign language concurrent audio streams, and is also the interpreter liaison for the 27 student conference interpreters from the Monterey Institute.
Josh Warburg Josh Warburg, Social Media Teammate, iPhone App
Josh is a graduate student at the Monterey Institute of International Studies pursuing a Masters of Public Administration focused on non-profit management. He attended UC Davis and completed two years of national and community service with the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps before attending MIIS. He’s interested in the forum that TEDx creates for sharing ideas and creating connections among people with diverse experiences and skills.
 Tami Weiss Tami Weiss, Innovation Lounge Curator
Tami is pursuing a Masters in International Environmental Policy at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. When she’s not busy saving the environment she loves to cook, take pictures of the things she’s cooked and travel to other countries so she can take cooking classes. She was involved with the inaugural TEDxYouth@Monterey in 2011.
