The Monterey Institute of International Studies, a graduate school of Middlebury College, provides international professional education in areas of critical importance to a rapidly changing global community, including international policy and management, translation and interpretation, language teaching, sustainable development, and non-proliferation. We prepare students from all over the world to make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields through degree programs characterized by immersive and collaborative learning, and opportunities to acquire and apply practical professional skills. Our students are emerging leaders capable of bridging cultural, organizational, and language divides to produce sustainable, equitable solutions to a variety of global challenges.

The Women’s Empowerment Project (WEP) works to inspire, empower and engage women as catalysts to improve the quality of life for all of society. WEP fully leverages existing organizations, businesses and women’s groups that currently provide specific services to meet women’s needs. Where there are gaps, WEP takes responsibility for elevating women’s issues to a visible level by bringing them to the attention of community leaders who can help implement solutions. We believe one of the best ways to help women is to bring them together to share resources and information, to help increase their skills and to inspire them to meet their challenges with newfound energy and confidence. WEP’s Strong and Wise Women’s Conference is the perfect vehicle to accomplish these goals.

In 2014, the Strong & Wise Women’s Conference will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.
